CHAITEN BARGE ROUTE
Barges depart daily from Puerto Montt, Castro and Quellón (Chiloé) to Chaitén.

Bimodal Route
It is a land and sea route, from Puerto Montt passing through Hornopirén, by barge to Caleta Gonzalo and then by land to Chaitén.

ARGENTINE ROUTE
THE LIMIT BORDER CROSSING
There are two options: one is to come by private car, or if not, you can take a Jacobsen bus in Esquel or Trevelin. The bus will drop you off at Argentine customs, and you'll have to walk through both customs offices, which are relatively close.

AUSTRAL HIGHWAY ROUTE
From Coyhaique, passing through Puyuhuapi, La Junta, and Villa Santa Lucia, to Chaiten. To get to Futaleufú, it's best to get off at Villa Santa Lucia and arrange a bus from Chaiten to Futaleufú.
